NOTE!

PLEASE GIVE THIS SITE A MINUTE TO LOAD AND CATCH ITS BREATH. THANKS.

Daniel and Paul

We are a copywriter/art director team who have been working together at Lowe (NZ) for over 10 years.
We've been responsible for some of New Zealand's biggest advertising campaigns, twice winning NBR Advertising Campaign of the Year. Along the way we've collected a few awards.

We are now available for freelance work.

VODAFONE PXT

Our proudest claim-to-fame; inventing the word 'Pxt'.
This billboard won some accolades too.

(For overseas viewers of this site, the word 'Pxt' is used in New Zealand instead of 'MMS' or 'Picture Messaging')

GENESIS ENERGY Pukeko

Our latest (and last) commercial for Lowe.

BLACK KNIGHT

Black Knight is a New Zealand institution. Four weeks after this ad aired sales had increased 104%.

RECHARGE

Recharge is an additive that is poured into a battery to bring it back to life. We developed the brand, logo, packaging and advertising.

VODAFONE

NUDIES

Axis finalist, Silver Effie winner, and the most complained about ad Vodafone have ever run.

WALKER WIRELESS

Larry Ellison from Oracle requested a copy of this ad to show his mates in the States how ISP advertising should be done.
(Vocal duties performed by Jordan Luck from The Exponents.)

The morning after the Walker Wireless ad (above) launched we positioned cars around the Auckland CBD with computers embedded in the bonnets, as if thrown from a high building. Actors were hired to look up at the building above and point at supposedly smashed windows.

HANDY ANDY

A simple (and slightly queasy) product demonstration using the glass floor of the Auckland Skytower.

BURGER KING

There's only one thing a bloke wants.

MAYBELLINE

Originally conceived for the Girls Day Out, this bathroom advertising campaign invites women to tear off a strip which directed them to maybelline/mascara/freesample.co.nz

VODAFONE Boys and girls

BOYS AND GIRLS

45" cinema commercial. Bronze Axis winner.

POLYNESIAN BLUE

Not the most creative ad in the world, but it was the right idea at the right time in the right place.
This ran a single billboard in downtown Apia, Samoa. The national airline had gone belly-up, and Air New Zealand was filling the demand...at a cost.
The locals, who make up a large proportion of the passengers were majorly pissed off.
By happy coincidence Poly Blue's colours were the same as the Samoan flag, so we positioned the airline as their new national carrier (it's not). It became the lead story in the Samoa Post, and the locals abandoned Air New Zealand overnight.

BURGER KING Whopper

HIMALAYAS

This ad was made for the SE Asia market and shot in a shed in Henderson.

VODAFONE Old Rules

This had the Rolls Royce Owners Club absolutely spewing.

BURGER KING Italian

A mature and contemplative piece of film-making.

VODAFONE - "Music downloads"

Get the song that's in your head.

VODAFONE Kiwifruit

This ad was used in a court case in 2006 to justify a defendants sexual harassment ("I was just copying the Vodafone ad"). Thankfully it didn't wash with the jury, and the gentleman in question was locked up.

VODAFONE Shag

Vodafone wanted to show you could attach pictures to your txts.
(The bird, is of course, a shag.)

HONDA Integra

How do you say 'A race car for the road' ? Here's our crack at it.

VODAFONE Warriors

NAB (Newspaper Advertising Bureau) Finalist for News Print Ad of the Year 2006.

VODAFONE Txt Launch

Here's a couple of spots from 1999. Hard to believe that no one had ever heard of txt messaging prior to these ads. At the time we thought it was a novelty service that would never amount to anything. Oops.

BURGER KING Orca

The client deserved a big fat medal for approving this script.

VODAFONE IOU

The IOU service was invented in-house by Chris Knox, and has been exported around the world.

VODAFONE Baboon

Do you know how hard it is to train a baboon to take a photo of its bum?

VODAFONE

LOVE COLOUR

One of three retail TV commercials for the launch of cheap colour-screen mobiles.

SUBARU

We were determined not to put any spec work on the site, but had to make an exception for this one. It was never presented and never ran. Pity.

BURGER KING Big Burger

Franky Fearless attempts to leap his motorcycle over the Double X Xtreme Double Cheese Burger. Will he make it?

VODAFONE Bombing

We shot this in one go, in real-time, with 14 seperate video cameras.

SKY / VODAFONE Rats

Everybody loves talking rodents...
